Courthouse Security in Jefferson County
Its time that Jefferson County implement a good security program to protect the employees and citizens of Jefferson County. As it stands now, all Jefferson County offers is a sign posted on the doors that states; "weapons prohibited". I understand that the Chief Civil Deputy is on third floor with one additional officer watching court proceedings. But who's watching the access points to the courthouse? It's time for some type of screening or physical security options. We can't wait for an irate property owner to show up at the Courthouse on a suicide mission because the county has elected to take 150 ft buffer on his property. Lets demand that our security at the Courthouse takes a priority over the feel good stuff like trails, parks and buffers.
