View a slide show of the 2010 Budget Update & Planning to Implement I-1033, presented October 12, 2009. As Jefferson County prepares its 2010 County Budget, this is an updated preview of the challenges to sustain current public services.
Under existing law, Jefferson County faces a $2 Million revenue gap it must close in the next 5 years. With I-1033, this gap would grow to $2.5 Million, and require annual expenditure reductions each year thereafter. This structural funding gap will force Jefferson County to consider discontinuing discretionary programs and lowering the level of service for many mandated programs.
